What BAM Does PDF Print E-mail

BAM's intention is to be a useful and lively part of the anglophone community in and around Monaco. It arranges social events where members may meet other English speakers in friendly surroundings.  Through its Community Support arm, it provides moral, practical and, if necessary, financial support to British and Commonwealth citizens whether or not they are BAM members. It organises fund-raising events for the benefit of the Community Support work of the Association, and more recently, through the Patrons Scheme is working towards closer relationships with local businesses.

BAM can be of great help to new arrivals in the area, helping them to settle quickly into local life, meet other, like-minded people and share a constantly expanding network of resources and information. For example, we can suggest names of English-speaking doctors and dentists, and explain how the education and health care systems work, as well as providing French-speaking volunteers to accompany members in their dealings with the local authorities and institutions.

A monthly newsletter, BAM News, provides regular updates of local activities, resources and events. It includes articles on past BAM events and details of forthcoming ones, as well as a wide range of information about what is happening in the region generally.

An elected Committee of members takes care of the day to day running of BAM through several specialist sub committees and focus groups. The Committee works to cement ties with the Principality, representing the Association at certain formal occasions, and also invites members of the Administration and the Princely family to the annual Queen's Birthday Party in June.
