BAM Community Support

BAM Community Support (CS) was set up to offer practical, pastoral and financial help to the British and Commonwealth Community in Monaco and the neighbouring areas. We work with several British charities, the Monegasque social services, local hospitals and retirement homes.

The CS is financed by BAM Patrons and individual donations. BAM takes great care to use these funds effectively and discreetly. The confidentiality of each applicant for financial help is extremely important to BAM and is respected at every level.

The CS also offers more practical day to day help. The CST (Community Support Team) are volunteers who know their way around the Monegasque system - be it social services, health or education -  who can help non-French speakers to deal with all these and other things. They are willing to make visits, do the shopping and perform various errands for people who are temporarily or permanently house-bound. They also visit patients in the local hospital and homes for the elderly. Whatever the problem or situation, the CST is there to offer support, where it can, discreetly and competently.

The CST try to spend as much time as possible with their individual cases, to give every one of them the attention required; but it must be remembered that members are volunteers who also have jobs, families and other commitments.

We therefore warmly welcome anyone, who has a few hours to spare, to join the CST. No special qualifications are necessary and we would love to have you on board!
Please phone or email us and we will put you on our list of volunteers.

New To Monaco ?

The Community Support Team can be contacted
  by email; bam@monaco.mc

The BAM Community Support Team can offer advice and assistance to those recently arrived in the Principality whilst they are settling in, particularly newcomers to the area  dealing with the authorities if they do not speak French confidently.

We have contact details for English-speaking doctors, dentists, nurses and carers and are used to dealing with unusual queries!

We would also suggest that newcomers attend a BAM Get-Togethers - these were held every second and fourth Thursday of each month before the Pandemic and we hope to restart this in 2021.  These are an excellent way to meet people and the committee are always on hand to welcome new members.

Our forthcoming events are also listed on our events calendar.
