Press Release on the Programme for the Apostolic Visit of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV to the Principality of Monaco
Arrangements for Attending the Celebrations at the Palace Square and the Louis II Stadium
On Saturday, 28th March 2026, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV will undertake an apostolic visit to the Principality of Monaco for a day marked by both official and spiritual engagements.
A day punctuated by significant moments in which Monegasques, residents of the Principality, and non-residents may take part.
Morning Programme
09:00 Welcome Ceremony at the Prince’s Palace of Monaco
09:40 Audience granted to His Holiness the Pope
Greeting by the Holy Father and address by the Sovereign Prince from the balcony of the Prince’s Palace
Procession of the Holy Father in the Popemobile
11:00 Time of Prayer – Monaco Cathedral (by invitation)
11:45 Meeting with young people and catechumens – Sainte-Dévote Church
Address by the Holy Father
Access to the Palace Square will be reserved for Monegasques and residents. Entry will be possible from 7:00 a.m. (last entry at 8:30 a.m.) and will require the presentation of a wristband and proof of identity.
These wristbands will be distributed by the municipal teams from Monday 16th to Friday 20th March, from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Espace Léo Ferré.
Distribution of wristbands will be reserved for Monegasques and their spouses on 16th and 17th March.
From Wednesday 18th-20th March, distribution will be extended to residents of the Principality.
Afternoon Programme
15:00 Pontifical Mass – Louis II Stadium, Monaco – Homily by the Holy Father
From 12:30 p.m., the public will be able to access the Louis II Stadium, where a Mass will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m. by His Holiness Pope Leo XIV (attendance requested no later than 2:00 p.m.).
For the occasion, unnumbered seating by zone on the stadium pitch will be reserved for Monegasques and residents (subject to availability).
These seats may be collected at the Espace Léo Ferré at the same time as the wristbands for access to the Palace Square. Individuals will be required to write their surname and first name by hand on the tickets upon collection. Tickets may therefore not be transferred to others.
Those who have collected a wristband or a seat are kindly encouraged to honour their attendance, to allow as many people as possible to take part in this exceptional celebration.
